Manchester City are looking to tie down one of their best players in the next few months by opening contract talks this afternoon.
That player comes in the form of Raheem Sterling who continues to impress during his most prolific season.
Sterling has already scored more goals this season (12) than he has in any of his other seasons and we are only three months into the season.
To make them even sweeter, many of them have come extremely late into games and have often spared Man City’s blushes against some teams.
His latest came against Southampton on Wednesday evening in which he scored an incredible goal in the 96th minute to preserve Man City’s current winning record.
Now, the very morning after, Manchester City have opened talks with the youngster to give him a new contract which you would expect will bring a bigger wage packet too.
Some of the players’ other strikes came in the form of an 82nd-minute equaliser against Everton in the season.
Winners in the 96th and 88th minutes came against Bournemouth and Feyenoord before a little wait for his next.
Then, his next two came during this week in incredible fashion against Huddersfield in the 84th minute and Southampton in the 96th.
